Sew beautiful and easy animal costumes for play and dressing up.

It is a fully lined hooded waistcoat, and is very roomy for plenty of growing room.

This pattern includes the ears and tails to make a Fox, Rabbit and Cat costume, but using different fabrics and mixing the ears and tails around can give you so many more options.  The fox pattern could become a wolf, the cat could be a tiger or a sheep (with a shortened tail), and the rabbit (with a slightly shortened cat’s tail) could become a donkey.

This is a digital pattern which you will download for printing at home.  A4 and A1 printing layouts are included.

As a sewing newbie, this was my first pattern so I was looking for something fun and easy to follow. The instructions were clear and well written. I found the tips and glossary particularly helpful. I made the cat costume for my son, using leopard print fur as I wanted something different that would stand out and he loves Baby Jaguar from Diego and Friends! I am so pleased with the result! I am planning to make the fox and rabbit too, using different fabrics so I can create several versions. I believe this flexibility makes the pattern very good value for money. Highly recommended.

I had not done any sewing since my needlework 0’level in the 70’s, so it was with trepidation that I tried making a fox costume for my granddaughter. I need not have worried for the instructions were very well written and I particularly liked the clever diagrams. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and am already planning an Easter bunny, because I have just seen the most gorgeous pink faux fur. Highly recommended for beginners as well as the experienced, and the designer is happy to advise you if you need help.
    10/10.

My son asked to be ‘The tiger who came to tea’ for world book day, and I found this pattern which was perfect!
I would class myself as a very inexperienced sewer, but have completed quite a few complicated patterns that came with easy instructions.
There were a couple of very vague parts, which I just had to guess (and get wrong!) and I couldn’t get my head around the way I was being told to seal up the sides at the very end, although it may just be me. (I was very tired by this point! – I was waiting for the pattern to be sent to me, not realising it was instant and had gone straight into my junk folder. By the time it dawned on me I should check there, I didn’t have long left to make it!)
But this is an amazing pattern, So much better than I would have been able to create myself and it should last through many more book days, and nativities with all the combination options available. And he looks adorable!!

Thank you Jayne! I’m sorry you found parts of the pattern instructions confusing – did you work it out in the end? If you’re still unsure please drop me an email and I’ll do my best to help you.

I bet he looks amazing! xx
